I am your guide through the special education process! Progress, data reporting issues, least restrictive environment, related service minutes, supplementary aids and services, and other IEP and 504-related topics. I can attend meetings, write emails on your behalf to the school, and help you develop a collaborative team that works for your child throughout their school career.
Have questions about eligibility? Evaluations? What is FAPE and how does that apply to my student? What's the difference between an IEP and a 504? I am an Ohio special education advocate and I can help parents understand the process, the IDEA, Section 504, and how a well-calculated program and reasonable accommodations can help your student succeed.
Fill out the Client Intake Form prior to our initial consultation, and we can determine what you need together.
Detailed billing agreement will be outlined in Agreement for Services signed by Client and Advocate prior to services beyond initial consultation
Hello! I’m Lauren Bowen, the advocate behind EmpowerEd Ohio. I live in Central Ohio with my husband, three children, and two dogs. My journey into special education advocacy began with my own experience as a parent. Since my daughter’s diagnosis in 2015, I’ve been a dedicated advocate, navigating the complexities of the special education system to ensure she receives the support she needs. Along the way, I’ve also had the privilege of serving as an educational surrogate parent, attending IEP and ETR meetings for foster children.
As a graduate of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) Special Education Advocate Training program and a member in good standing, I’ve built a strong foundation of knowledge in special education law. I am uniquely prepared to help you navigate this complex process.
